Tilly is an 8-year-old British Shorthair who was adopted from her first home at the age of 2. She was previously the only cat in the household but lived alongside two dogs. Since then, she has become a fully indoor cat and currently lives alongside four other cats.
Tilly has a lovely soft coat that benefits from regular grooming to help keep shedding under control. Thankfully, she really enjoys being groomed and will sit patiently while you brush her, although she definitely does not enjoy having her claws clipped!
Her diet consists of both wet and dry food. Tilly enjoys attention and being stroked, and will usually choose to sit close to you rather than on you. She can occasionally be picked up, but isn’t particularly keen on being held. She is also a very vocal girl who will often announce herself as she enters a room and is always happy to receive a little scratch and greeting.
Although Tilly has lived alongside other cats, she can be quite particular about her space and food and has been known to fight with the other cats. We feel she would ideally be suited to being the only cat in a quiet, adult-only home. However, one cat-friendly cat may be considered if there is plenty of space and separate areas available, allowing Tilly to have her own space and retreat when she wants to.
In her first home, Tilly had access to a cat-proofed garden where she could enjoy some supervised outdoor time. We think this type of setup would be ideal for her. However, as she has been an indoor cat for several years, we would recommend that she remains indoors with access to a catio or completely secure garden.
Tilly has experienced quite a few changes throughout her life, including several home moves and changes to the pets and people around her. She has lived with both dogs and cats and has also experienced the arrival of a baby. While she has coped with these changes, she has shown some signs of stress and we feel that, at this stage in her life, she would really benefit from stability and consistency.
We are therefore looking for a settled home for Tilly where she can take her time to relax and feel secure, without the prospect of further significant changes to her household or environment. We feel this would give her the best opportunity to thrive and enjoy a quieter life.
Tilly is a characterful girl with plenty to offer and will be a lovely companion for the right home. She is currently in foster in Keynsham.
