Summer is a beautiful girl just under 2 years old who has been with us for a few months while we got some skin issues under control. She’s made lovely progress in foster and is now ready to find a patient, understanding home of her own.
Summer can be a little nervous when meeting new people, but once she feels safe and settled her personality really shines. She becomes an incredibly affectionate, chatty and playful little soul who loves being around her humans. She enjoys curling up beside you on the sofa or bed and loves fuss and attention.
One of Summer’s quirky traits is that she likes to gently mouth or play-bite hands when she’s excited or affectionate. It’s never aggressive or malicious — just part of her playful way of interacting with people she trusts.
She also enjoys toys and interactive play once her confidence has grown, and it’s been lovely watching her come out of her shell in foster care.
When Summer first came indoors after previously living outside, she went through a short period of stress-related overgrooming and pulled some fur from the backs of her legs. This has improved well with a short course of treatment, calming supplements and a stable routine. As a precaution, she is currently on a high quality grain-free diet, which we would recommend continuing in her new home.
Summer can get along with some other cats but can be selective, so careful introductions and the right match would be important. We think she would thrive most in a calm home with people willing to give her a little patience while she settles — the reward is a wonderfully loving and entertaining companion.
