Rusty

Rusty is estimated to be around six years old and has clearly been a much-loved pet in the past. However, somewhere along the way he seems to have missed the lesson on first impressions… Rusty greets new people with a hiss rather than a purr. But don’t be fooled – Rusty is all talk. Once you look past the initial hiss, you’ll find one of the softest, sweetest boys you could hope to meet. He absolutely adores affection, enjoys plenty of head scratches, and will happily curl up on your lap given the chance. Cats who truly love a lap are rare, and Rusty makes the most of every opportunity. He can still be a little chatty (and occasionally hiss) when first meeting people, but this isn’t aggression – it’s simply his way of communicating that he’s unsure. Spend a little time with him and he quickly relaxes into the affectionate, soppy companion he really is. Rusty has been straying for a number of years. In early March, he was found in a garden with a painful abscess on his neck, highlighting just how tough life had become for him. He’s now ready to leave that life behind and find a home where someone can see beyond the hiss and give him the love, comfort, and lap he’s been missing. Look past the hiss… and you’ll find a truly special boy.
